In the drama series, he played the raunch character of Sabelo. Well, in the backdrop of the news of his exit, the showrunners of the show are yet to issue an official statement regarding his exit.
According to IOL news, Sabelo told the Mabuzas the real reason he came to Mpumalanga was to avenge his father, and Rebs was devastated.
The publication also reported that Khaya witnesses a tender moment between Sabelo and Nandi, and, this time, the gloves came off, and the two fought.
After getting into a conflict with both characters, he is killed. However, it is not known who has killed Sabelo yet by the public.
However, many of his fans are saddened by the news as they took to the comment section to voice their thoughts on his exit from the drama series. And although many are saddened by the news, there were others who felt otherwise.
Award-winning actor Sthembiso, better known as SK Khoza has thanked Connie Ferguson and her late husband Shona for sticking by him when others reportedly turned on him as he bowed out of his character as Shaka Khoza on the couple’s Mzansi Magic telenovela, The Queen.
The Queen came to an end when the final episode of its seventh season aired last week. M-Net local entertainment channels, in March 2022, said the telenovela would end as it revised its channel strategies to keep up-to-date with changing audience preferences and the evolving competitor landscape.
Khoza said:
“@connie_ferguson and Mr. SHO – really feels like I have been blessed with two older siblings who would do anything to protect me.
Ng’yabonga (thank you) for always having my back when others turned.
No matter how many times they took me out, you fought (PEOPLE DON’T KNOW THIS) to always bring me back, and whenever you did it, it was always silenced. You both love me so much, and I love and respect you back. I look forward to working with Ferguson Films again soon. But for now, I TAKE A BOW AND CHEERS. ”
In November 2021, M-Net’s Nomsa Philiso said Ferguson Films had informed them that Khoza would no longer form part of the telenovela’s cast. However, he continued making on-and-off appearances on the show, including its final episode last Friday.
In the same post, Khoza thanked The Queen director Andries van der Merwe for allowing him to do “whatever I wanted to do with the Shaka character” and giving him the space to “be as creative and dangerous as I wanted to make him”.
