The murder trial of slain Bafana Bafana goal keeper Senzo Meyiwa has resumed at the Pretoria High Court.
On stand today was Meyiwa’s friend who made more damning allegations about accused number 2.
Meyiwa’s friend, Tumelo Madlala was being cross-examined by the defence when he returned to the stand on Monday.
He insisted that accused number 2 was one of the hitmen that took away the buzzing life of Meyiwa in Octobet 2014.
Tumelo made a dramatic U-turn as initially during a identity parade in September he claimed he could not identify any of the hitmen.
Now he has pointed out at accused number 2.
The defence lawyer has now questioned the legitimacy of Madlala’s testimony as he seems to have changed his stance as far as identitifying the perpetrator is concerned.
“I put it to you that you only managed to point out accuse number two in court because you have been watching television and [following] the media,” he said.
Madlala said in response: “No, I deny that. I’m not the kind of person who is interested in watching TV.
“Furthermore, I’d like to point out that the suspect I pointed to on that particular day [the day Meyiwa was killed] was wearing a jacket with a hoodie even if I can’t recall the colour of the jacket. I remember that clearly.”
