Mliswa Detained, Expected to Appear in Court
Norton independent Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa who was arrested on Thursday morning at his Borrowdale home in Harare has been charged for breaking lockdown regulations and he is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
Mliswa was arrested while addressing journalists following his public fight with an Australian-based lover Susan Mutami.
The legislator is detained at Borrowdale Police Station and is expected to appear at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts on Friday.
According to New Zimbabwe, in his warned and cautioned police statement Mliswa denied the charges leveled against him.
iHarare had also reported that Mliswa held an explosive press conference at his Borrowdale home in Harare on Thursday morning to expose what he referred to as a “security plot by a minister” to discredit him politically using his ex-girlfriend Susan Mutami for personal reasons.
For the past two weeks, Mliswa has been making waves with his estranged ex-girlfriend and alleged mother of his unborn twins, Susan revealing some ‘secrets’.
During the press conference, Mliswa made a shocking statement that he “actually hated homosexuals” such that he couldn’t be identified as one himself. He further revealed that the CIO boss, Owen Ncube was the man behind the whole drama.
The legislator further alleged that he was being targeted by the State Security minister in a “failed smear campaign” and further challenged the CIO to investigate the smear campaign against him to clear his name.
