WATCH: Bheki Cele rubbishes human trafficking reports
South African Police Minister Bheki Cele has rubbished claims that human trafficking in South Africa is on the rise.
In an interview with SABC News Morning Live anchor Sakina Kamwendo, Cele said there is growing publicity on human trafficking.
He even said the police are working tirelessly to curb human trafficking syndicates.
Contradicting to statistics released last week by a human trafficking victims group which said only 1% of victims are found, Cele said SA Police has found 75% of the victims.
This move by Cele has angered many South Africans who are already frustrated by the rise of criminal activities in the country which has been blamed on the influx of illegal foreigners in the country.
